A young activist and development expert from Plateau, Machief Mallo has been appointed Director of Partnership by the African Union Students Association (AUSA).

The appointment which is for 12 months subject to renewal was communicated in a letter dated 1st August 2017.

The letter signed by the AUSA President, Mary Asemota as obtained by this platform says the appointment is on "merit".

It is premised on strategies adopted by the African Union Economic, Social and Cultural Council (AU-ECOSOCC) to promote the participation of African students in the implementation of policies and programs of the union as directed by its executive council, the letter says.

Mr. Mallo as the body's partnership director will be working on volunteer basis to develop strategies for partnerships with students, organizations, local and international governments and educational stakeholders among others to achieve the African Union agenda for 2063.

The appointment is effective August 1, 2017.
