The Irigwe Development Association (IDA) says the claims of the Miyetti Allah Cattle Breeders Association (MACBAN) Plateau State Chapter that Irigwe youths beheaded six Fulani herdsmen and rustled their livestock after killing some are "wanton, totally callous and deliberately designed programme of lies, deceit and propaganda."

According to the IDA, Kuri village where the alleged attack took place does not exist in Bassa or anywhere in Plateau as claimed by MACBAN.

A statement signed by the IDA Public Relations Officer, Ive Gulu says, “For the records, there is no Village within the Irigwe territories of Kwall and Miango Districts called “Kuri”.

"It does not exist anywhere in Bassa LGA and we will not be surprised if that place does not exist at all."

The statement gave a record of attacks by suspected Fulani in Irigwe communities on the said date of the attack on Fulani, noting the claims of MACBAN are an attempt to divert attention from the truth.

"In their haste to mislead and plant their seed of propaganda, the MACBAN availed themselves freely to creative license when they mentioned a “Kuri Village of Bassa Local Government Area” where the alleged killing of six of their members took place on the 15th of October, 2017.

"The 15th of October, 2017, (last Sunday), witnessed the vicious Attack upon Ta’agbe in Miango District which left scores of charred, mutilated and burned bodies; houses were razed to the ground by blood thirsty Fulani herdsmen and this wicked program continued the next day (16th October 2017) in Nkie-gbonwro where about thirty (women and children ) were also killed," the statement says.

The IDA observed that the allegation by the MACBAN was an admission of guilt and a "feeble" attempt to justify the killing of innocent men, women and children, calling for the investigation of the body.

It said, "We believe sincerely that the press release exposed the complicity of the MACBAN and their chairman in these events.

"The utter viciousness and the shameless anatomy of the tuber of a smoke screen that MACBAN decided to offload on the people of Plateau state, Nigeria and the world is criminal and should be treated with a heavy hand."

The MACBAN officials have not responded to the outburst of the IDA and efforts to reach them until press time proved abortive.

However, the Plateau State Police Public Relations Officer, Mathias Terna had in a report by this platform on Thursday said the NPF state command was not aware of the said attack on Fulani.

The MACBAN statement had said that the Police Division in Bassa was invited to witness the burial of the victims of the attack which occurred few hours before some 26 persons mainly women and children were killed in a class room in a Bassa village.
