The recent appointment of Mr. Boss Mustapha, a Christian as the new Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF) marks the beginning of inclusive governance in the Buhari government, Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOUWICAN) says.

In a statement by its National President, Engr. David Kadzai, the body believes the appointment was in consideration of its repeated calls for the fair consideration of Christians in key appointments.

The body according to the statement was convinced that going by the multi-religious and ethnic characterization of Nigeria, it was imperative that Christians also be considered for principal positions in government.

It therefore applauded the Buhari government saying "YOWICAN will applaud government when it does the right thing and reprimand it without any reservations whenever it errs.

"It is our moral responsibility to stand by the truth and not refrain from bringing this to limelight."

While calling for the inclusion of youths in government as well, the body expressed confidence in the capacity of the new SGF.

"In Mr Mustapha we have found a good Christian, a hardworking lawyer and businessman with a beautiful track record of serving the people and contributing immensely to the social, economic and political development of Nigeria through past offices he has held.

"We have no doubts whatsoever that he will discharge his duties well like he has always done in previous appointments serving this great country," it says.

It further congratulated Mr. Mustapha whose appointment it says is well deserved.
