In a statement by the state chairman of the group, comrade Timothy Tobias, the group advised the stakeholders and State Party officials involved  to avoid anything that could lead the party losing the February 17, 2018 LG  elections in the state

According to the group, PDP had suffered during the 2015 elections in the state because of imposition of candidates on the electorate and vowed to resist it this time around.

The group accused the move on Deputy chairman of the Party in the State Hon. Amos Gombi who they said has already imposed some candidates on the people, particularly of Kanke LGC describing the action as undemocratic and a violation of Nigeria"s electoral laws.

"The deputy chairman has already adopted an unpopular candidate and had embarked on a tour with the candidates to some politicians such as Senator Jeremiah Useni, Ambassador Chris Giwa and Dame Pauline Tallen and others within and outside the party to source for campaign funds for the candidates"

"This is a clear case of electoral fraud against the people of Plateau State and we are therefore calling on the State Chairman Hon. Damishi Sango to keep to his words and  resist this act of imposition against the will of the people.”

It would be recalled that the Party chairman had warned all the excos through a memo that anyone who intend to be close to any candidate or support any candidate such  person should resign his or her position.

However effort to contact the Deputy Chairman of the Party to react to the allegation by the group proved abortive as his phone number was not reachable as at the time of filling this report.
