Plateau State University (PLASU), Bokkos says it hesitated in considering the recent strike action by the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) as it feared for the students.

According to the institution's Vice Chancellor, Prof. Doknan Sheni, the university's fears were largely that students were losing time.

In an interview with this medium, the institution's boss said, "parents are equally losing resources because they pay for them to be in school and are not going to be refunded."

This according to him constitutes a loss to the institution and the state.

He however stated that the school participated in the strike action given its benefits to the institution and the students.

When the demands being pressed home are granted, "a happy worker is a good worker," he said.

Prof. Sheni disclosed the institution has evolved measures to ensure students catch up on academic period lost during the strike.
