We received with profound joy, the appointment of Elder Edward Lametek Adamu as Deputy Governor of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN). We are indeed grateful to President Mohammadu Buhari for his decision to appoint Elder Adamu into this position.

Elder Edward Lametek Adamu has distinguished himself in the field of financial management and is no doubt, one of the most qualified in the country to fill this post.

The Youth Wing of the Christian Association of Nigeria (YOWICAN) is indeed grateful because in the not too distant past, we advised the federal government to imbibe the wisdom of balanced appointments, one which would reflect balanced religious, gender and ethnic dispositions. The position of the deputy governor of CBN is one of such sensitive and influential positions which required the adherence to this call for fairness in choice of persons who filled these appointments. With the appointment of Elder Adamu as Deputy governor of CBN, we affirm that the federal government has done well.

We wish to further encourage the federal government to maintain this tempo and see that the fairness exhibited in this appointment be a constant and one which would be extended to all other key positions of authority in the socio-economic and political sphere of our blessed and beloved nation Nigeria.

We congratulate Elder Adamu on the new position which is on merit and extend to him our best assurances of our support and prayers for the Lord Almighty to grant him the wisdom, strategic insight and strength he needs to meet expectations in the new appointment!
