Deadly clashes have emerged between native villagers and Fulani herdsmen in Plateau's Daffo community, West of Bokkos, sources say.

An unconfirmed number of casualties has been recorded in the clashes which began yesterday in Farandong village, near Josho in Daffo district.

Security sources say the clashes were sparked by land disputes between some natives and Fulani residents.

Officials have confirmed the incident but haven't released details.

The Plateau State governor, Simon Lalong was said to be mobilizing to the village as at the time of publishing this report.
