Former Minister of Aviation, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode says a recent news report in The Punch newspaper purporting that he has "heart disease" is false.

A statement by his Senior Special Assistant, Obiageli Nwachukwu says the ex Minister has reported a "heart related ailment", not a heart disease ad reported.

The statement says the misrepresented story has caused fear and "consternation" amongst Chief Fani-Kayode's friends, supporters and family members all over the world.

"It is only in the world of the reporter of the Punch Newspaper that a "heart-related ailment" has suddenly become "heart disease"," the statement says.

The Punch newspaper is however said to have apologized and corrected the report.
