A correspondent of The Light Bearer newspaper, Bulus Bot has appeared among those shortlisted for Commissioner appointments by Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State.

Mr. Bot, the newspaper's Barkin Ladi LGA correspondent was reportedly supposed to be among the first commissioners who were recently dissolved but did not eventually get the appointment.

His name appearing in the latest list already before the House of Assembly for screening means that he is close to becoming a commissioner.

This is the second time an associate of the news medium is rising to such a position.

In 2011, the medium's pioneer Editor-in-Chief, Yiljap Abraham was appointed by then Gov. Jonah Jang as commissioner for Information, and later Commissioner, Tourism and Culture after being appointed GM, PRTVC.

Bot is thought to be the third news writer appointed by Lalong since assumption of office after Mark Lonyen, his Special Assistant on Media and Dan Manjang, his Special Adviser on Media.

The date for the screening of the latest commissioner nominees has not yet been fixed by the state Assembly.
