Plateau: Miango Currently Under Attack, Residents Fleeing

Bloody attacks are said to be intensifying in Rafiki and Dong communities of Miango District, Bassa Local Government Area, Plateau State.

Security sources say the attacks began in the early hours of Wednesday forcing residents to flee for safety.

A social media broadcast purportedly by the Plateau State Peace Building Agency had earlier called for calm over the attacks.

Security intervention has not been confirmed in the affected area but a directive is said to have been given in that regard by the civil authorities.

The renewed attacks follow the burial of 29 yesterday at Dundung village of Kwall District in the LGA killed in two different attacks on Thursday last week and Monday this week.

About four Fulani herders were reportedly arrested yesterday with AK47 rifles in connection to the attacks.

No official communication had however been received in that regard.
