Four people were yesterday killed as supposed rival cult groups clashed in Jos, the Plateau State capital.

The clash took place in the early hours of yesterday along Rukuba road, near the Maxwell Tobe Cantonment military Barracks, Rukuba, Bassa Local Government Area.

Although details of the incident are still sketchy, the Special Task Force in Jos, codenamed Operations Safe Haven has said that it was working with members of the community to identify the culprits.

Confirming the incident to MKB, Spokesperson of the Task Force, Maj. Umar Adams said, "It was a cultists' clash. 4 persons killed and 2 wounded."

This is the second major cult clash in the Northwestern part of the city this year leading to severe fatalities.

Earlier in April, some seven people were reportedly killed in a fierce gun duel between two rival cult groups few meters away from the scene of the latest incident.

No suspect has been arrested since the last incident.
