The National President, Nigeria Union of Journalists, NUJ, Comrade Waheed Odusile says the Union is in dear need of a review of its Constitution to accommodate new media, called online reporting..

Odusile who disclosed this Saturday in Jos while addressing delegates and members of the Plateau state council on his ambition yo run for the second term as President of the union promised that If reelected, his first assignment would be to call for a national delegates conference to get a living constitution.

He said he is passionately focused to reposition the union, which according has information the decision to move for the establishment of a television house that will gibe the union a voice to shout when the need arises.

He listed some of his silent achievements in the past three years to include training and retraining of members across the six zones in addition to moving the International Institute of Journalism , IIJ to its premenstrual site and install a 500kva generator to power the area.

He said under his administration, he has picketed some media houses who were not paying their workers and forced them to pay, as well as fought to a stand still, some security personnel who were harassing Journalists and members who were wrongfully detained, released.

He promised not to compromise any standard and will work assiduously to consolidated and deliver his blue print of making the union better and respected body.

In another development, the News Link Chapel if the Nigeria Union of Journalists. Plateau State chapter has elected new officials to run the affairs of the chapel for the next, three years after.

In the election supervised by the council Secretary, Later Amine,  saw Mr. Mike Agada, emerging as the Chairman having being nominated by member of the chapel,  Gonina Solomon anf was seconded by Mr.Sunday Taiwo, the NUJ Auditor.

Also elected to serve in the Exco are Gonina Solomon Lemoro as Secretary while the position of Assistant Secretary went to Linda Uban and The position of treasurer went to Mrs. Juliana Olajide.

The elected chairman, Mike Agada in his acceptance speech commended members for the confidence reposed in them and seek cooperation from members to enable the exco serve them better
