Gov Simon Lalong has commended the Nigerian Police Force for its 'immense' contribution to the return of 'relative' peace in Plateau state.

Gov Lalong while receiving the certificate for the establishment of a Police Mobile squadron unit in Gashish district of Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of Plateau State assured of government's resolve to put in place necessary infrastructure for the sustenance of peace.

According to a statement by Plateau State commissioner of Information and Communication, Yakubu Dati, the presentation was done by the Inspector General of Police, Ibrahim Idris, in an occassion where he was represented by the DIG Operations, Habila Joshak, at the Police Headquarters in Abuja.

The IGP assured Gov Lalong that the Nigeria Police will continue to protect and safeguard the life and property of every Nigerian.

It would be recalled  that Gov Lalong had earlier made a request for the establishment of the Police Mobile barracks at Gashish to forestall further attacks, during the visit of President Mohammadu Buhari and the IGP to Plateau state, after incessant attacks in the area.
