Director General of the campaign organization of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship flag bearer in Plateau State,  Prof. Dimis Mailafiya has threatened to sue for alleged defamation of character.

The University lecturer for 32 years was reacting to a news report by MKB, Friday linking him with an alleged conspiracy by some forces in the APC to influence the selection of a running mate for his principal.

Prof. Mailafiya was in the report alleged to have been bribed with N2m by the Director General of the Industrial Training Fund (ITF), Sir Joseph Ari to front his top staff, Dr. James Dalork for the position of the running mate.

Other ranking members of the campaign team and the PDP Chairman in the State, Damishi Sango were in the report alleged to have taken the cash gifts to aid the selection of the Deputy ITF Audit Director against the popular wishes of stakeholders in the party and Mangu LGA where the party has zoned the position.

Prof. Mailafiya who called MKB to protest the report said, "I don't associate myself with corruption or self-enrichment.

"I don't collect anything from anybody or even collect gratification when people come to say thank you.

"I say the grace of God is sufficient for me and I don't play with any publication that associates my name with that."

The Don therefore demanded to get the source of the information used in the earlier report or head to court.

He said, "I will demand that you give me that source or you will see us in court, and I will charge you for defamation of character, and ask you to pay damages."

MKB had earlier before publishing the report on the alleged bribery sent him a text to seek his reaction which was not replied.

The chosen Gubernatorial running mate, James Dalork was said to be sponsored by Mr. Joe Ari who is a kinsman of Governor Simon Lalong of the State and an appointee of the Buhari APC Government for the purpose of destabilizing the party to give the ruling APC an edge over it in the 2019 polls.

Dalork was also said to have been fronted by the APC stakeholders in order to easily relief him of his position in the ITF, having been at variance with his boss in the recent past.

The PDP State exco with the exception of the Chairman and secretary had issued a release endorsing the Central Zone Vice Chairman of the Party, Hon. Benedict Shignugul as the running mate.

The Chairman and Secretary as well as the Useni campaign organization however have settled for the supposed APC candidate, Dr. Dalork.

The controversy that has trailed that selection has suggested that some top members of the PDP including Local Government officials had threatened to decamp in protest.
