The All Progressives Congress in Plateau State says it remains  committed to ensuring that women are carried along in governance across the state.

Rising from its State Working Committee (SWC) meeting in Jos, the party said it has endorsed the inclusion of women in critical developmental processes beginning with the 17 LGAs of the State.

A statement issued by State Chairman of the party, Hon. Letep Dabang said the State Working Committee has resolved that in order to ensure gender sensitivity, women must be considered for appointments by the recently elected Local Government officials in the state.

According to Dabang, the party has resolved that not less than two women must be appointed as Supervisory Councilors and Special Advisers in each of the Local Governments in the state.

The statement quotes the APC Chairman as saying, "the women through their patience as mothers will greatly reflect positively if involved in governance of which can be seen in this administration's drive towards women inclusion across board."

The party's State working Committee is billed to meet with the newly elected Local Government Chairmen next week to ensure this and other policies and programs of the APC at the grass roots are fully implemented, the statement notes.

The statement however commended Governor Simon Lalong on behalf of the SWC for ensuring the resumption of construction projects across the state, calling citizens to support the administration to deliver more.
