The Plateau State Government might be set to restore the "peace and tourism" integrity of the State towards attracting development.

The government under its present governor, Simon Lalong has assured severally that it was working to combat insecurity that has gripped the state for over a decade.

It has recently reported entering local and foreign agreements for the resuscitation of certain businesses and commercial projects that had either been abandoned or collapsed.

The government's recent signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for the reconstruction of the burnt down Jos main market, its partnership with a local power company, NESCO for power generation, its plan to revisit the construction of its abandoned 5-star hotel and hunt for investors overseas as well as complete the a state Dry Port are projects that will not only reduce unemployment but increase revenue for the state, Gov. Lalong says.

Speaking yesterday at the flagoff of a local trade fair in Jos, the governor represented by his Deputy, Sonni Tyoden sued the cooperation of citizens and the business community toward the advancement of the state.

An earlier speech by the Chairman of the 2018 Trade Fair flag off ceremony, Amb. Ignatius Longjan had sued for peaceful coexistence among citizens to enable businesses flourish in the state.

The Fair according to the President of the Plateau State Chambers of Commerce, Mines and Agriculture (PLACCIMA), Bulus Dareng is organized to bring exhibitors from different places together to showcase their products and meet their customers for direct sales and interactions, which is believed to be a productive business strategy.

The opening of the event featured the launch of the maiden edition of the State owned business magazine, "The Plateau State Business Hub".

The State Governor represented by his deputy led the State Assembly Speaker, Rt. Hon. Azi Madaki, the State Commissioner of Information, Yakubu Dati and other dignitaries to unveil the publication which is expected to be produced annually.

The Fair is expected to last till the 28th of October, 2018.
