The Nigerian Police says it has secured the release of four kidnap victims without ransom in three weeks.

Among those freed is 6 year old Master Aliyu Aminu, 16 year old Miss Rabiat Umaru and Mrs. Adama Umaru, 56 year old woman.

The Plateau State Police Command told journalists in Jos yesterday that it had launched mass hunting of the suspects on receiving information on the incidents which occurred at different times and locations in the State.

The Command had last weekend reported the release of a kidnapped monarch, Mr. David Dongbam, the paramount ruler of Dorock Kingdom of Shendam Local Government Area last weekend.

Five suspects have been arrested in connection to the crime, State Commissioner of Police, Mr. Austin Agbonlahor said.

Similarly, seven armed robbery suspects were arrested as 115 rustled cattle were also recovered, the Police boss said.

Mr. Agbonlahor blamed the upsurge of crime in the state to "negative drive by some criminally minded individuals who are bent on celebrating the forthcoming festivities in style".
