The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has warned that its peaceful disposition should not be taken for granted in the buildup to the February General Elections.

Plateau State Chairman of the Party, Hon. Damishi Sango said on Wednesday that the party will undertake peaceful campaigns across the state but will not tolerate any harassment or intimidation.

Supporters of the ruling All Progressives Congress party in the state, Sango said attacked PDP members on Monday, an act he regarded as display of "bad spirit".

In a statement signed by the PDP media anchorperson, Hon. Yiljap Abraham, Mr. Sango said "Pockets of miscreants" made up mostly of children, youth and women, believed to be APC supporters intimidated and harrassed PDP supporters around the Old Market towards the Divisional Police Headquarters, Mangu.

"They rained abuses on PDP supporters, banging, and smashing their vehicles and throwing objects on them."

He however saluted the Federal and Vigilante securities for ensuring that those who attended the PDP rally in Mangu, the home of the incumbent Deputy Governor, Sonni Tyoden left unhurt.
