The Plateau State Government, Friday signed an agreement for the construction of a 5km road network in Jos with a local construction company, Rick Rock Nig. Ltd.

The agreement covered road construction and rehabilitation from Jenta Adamu to Jenta Mangoro suburbs with spurs to Bishop's residence in Jenta Adamu and Catholic Church in Jenta Mangoro.

The project which costs over N1.4 billion naira is part of government's efforts at meeting the yearnings of citizens and opening up slums for enhanced socioeconomic growth, State Commissioner for Housing and Urban Development, Mr. Bulus Bot said.

"His Excellency, Gov. Simon Lalong of Plateau State made the promise in line with his five pillar policy thrust and he has fulfilled it," the HUD Commissioner said.

Mr. Bot who signed the contract on behalf of the State Government warned against defaulting on contract agreements.

Representative of Rick Rock Nigeria Ltd, Martin Barry pledged timely and quality delivery of the project.

Mr. Barry, the Resource Manager of the company lauded the state government's commitment to infrastructural development in the state, assuring of the company's sustained support.
