A member of the Nigerian House of Representatives, Mr. Istifanus Gyang on Sunday accused the Plateau State Governor, Mr. Simon Lalong of funding the destruction of his campaign posters and billboards.

Mr. Gyang in a statement said the act violates the Electoral Act and the Peace Pact signed at the DREP Center, Jos, thus threatening peace in the  State.

In view of this "gross abuse and violation of clear provisions of the Electoral Act", ID Gyang as the Barkin Ladi/Riyom Federal constituency rep member the State Commissioner of Police to call the Governor to order.
He equally called the police boss to take appropriate steps to ensure that the rights of all other candidates are respected in line with the rule of law and acceptable democratic norms.

He however warned that the Governor "cannot remove, erase nor alter the acceptance and love that the people have for my Senatorial candidature in Plateau North and indeed, all other candidates of the PDP extraction.

"This reality will, doubtless, come to bear in our victory at all levels on 16th February and indeed 2nd March 2019."
