The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) says the Plateau State INEC pointsman, Mallam Halilu Pai has compromised his position by failing to release the election results for Plateau North.

The Independent National Electoral Commission under Mr. Pai had canceled several results of polling units across the state towards giving the ruling APC an advantage, State Chairman of the PDP, Damishi Sango said yesterday.

The body according to the opposition leader had earlier put Returning Officers who conducted elections in the Central Zone under duress to announce results in favour of the APC.

Sango added that the body is delaying the results of a 92,000 voter capacity ward in Jos where the PDP "roundly won" the House of Reps and Senate elections for Jos North/Bassa constituency and Plateau Northern Senatorial District respectively.

With this, it is 'evident' that the electoral umpire was 'deliberately' targeted at disenfranchising citizens and weakening the PDP, the Party Chairman said in a Press Conference in Jos.

Consequently, Sango said the State Resident Electoral Commissioner should be held responsible for any breakdown of law and order in the State.

"He has set the whole of Plateau on tension which is a recipe monumental crisis," said Mr. Sango, an ex Nigerian Minister.
