About 200 beneficiaries of the National Homegrown School Feeding Programme in Plateau State, Tuesday sang songs of praise and prayer for President Muhammadu Buhari and Gov. Simon Lalong.

The pupils in Pilot Primary School, Bisichi, Barkin Ladi Local Government Area of the State chorally appreciated the "sound education and free meals" provided by the APC government in a special rendition during a program to showcase the school feeding programme.

At the sight of cameras during the event, some of the pupils joyfully made double four finger signs, chanting "sai Buhari," "4+4" and other APC campaign slogans while gripping their pudding cups with their thumbs.

The NHGSFP is designed to encourage learning among school age children, as well as cater for the basic needs of pupils in public schools, said Dr. Sumayya Hamza, the Plateau State Focal Person of the Federal Government's Social Investment Programme, and Special Assistant to Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong on N-Power.

According to Hamza, President Buhari's desire is for the poorest of Nigerians to rise beyond their limitations and achieve their dreams through the help of the Federal Government.

Thus, various programs have been designed to support women in business, provide quality health insurance and meet the welfare needs of poor households across the country, she said.

"For women to continue getting soft loans for micro businesses, for pregnant women to keep enjoying health insurance with their children and for households to keep receiving the N5000 conditional cash transfer grants of the Federal Government, we must support Buhari to return for a second term," she said (paraphrased).

Governor Simon Lalong of Plateau State, represented at the event by Mr. Tigana Yakal said the APC government was ready to do more if given another four years.

APC Senatorial candidate for Plateau North, Mr. Rufus Bature announced a 30% donation of his monthly income to selected beneficiaries in each of the over 1000 wards in the Senatorial district if elected.

That according to him will be his own social investment program, complementary to the Federal Government's program.

The Chairman of Barkin Ladi Local Government Council, Mr. Dickson Chollom, together with representatives of Parents Teachers Association and teaching staff in the School lauded the welfare programmes of the APC government, while calling for support for another term.
