Unconfirmed reports say the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC is under pressure to declare last weekend's National Assembly election results for Plateau North in favour of the ruling APC.

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong is said to be depending on the results of the Plateau Northern Senatorial District and Jos North/Bassa constituency elections for his reelection ticket.

A social media broadcast yesterday alleged that the Muslim community in the State had demanded that the Governor worked the victory of the APC NASS candidates or lose his second term ticket.

Governor Lalong has therefore kept close contact with officials of INEC towards ensuring the election results are not announced as obtained from the field during the polls, sources say.

Security agencies are said to be on standby to neutralize any protests against the announcement.

The PDP was reported to have won the Presidential and NASS elections in Plateau Northern Senatorial district but INEC is insisting on cancelling some votes to give the APC an advantage.

Tudun Wada/Kabong ward which has 92000 registered voters has had its Presidential election results in favour of PDP rejected.

Same is expected to play out for the NASS poll results which are being planned for secret declaration today.

INEC had withheld the results to consult with stakeholders yesterday but could not take a decision.

Journalists were barred from covering the proceedings of the meeting which ended in a deadlock.
