The Plateau State Peace Building Agency says serving justice without reconciliation does not guarantee peace in a conflict situation.

The ability ofgovernments and other stakeholders to meander between issues without having to create fresh grievances makes for an easier resolution of disputes, Director General of the agency, Mr. Joseph Lengmang said, Tuesday.

Speaking at a conflict sensitive symposium for journalists, organized by the agency in Jos, Mr. Lengmang said corrective, reconciliative and reconstructive justice which sometimes involve dialogue and forgiveness work best in multiethnic conflict communities.

The PPBA according to him has been woeking in conflict communities in Plateau State with the sponsorship of the United States Embassy to identify and sustainably address the root causes of conflicts.

Journalists he said have played significant roles in peace development, reasons for which the symposium was organized.

"This program is organized to afford an opportunity for the Peace Building Agency to share ideas with the journalists community towards finding ways to better sustain the peace that we currently enjoy in the State," he said.
