Police in Plateau State have arrested the man who allegedly stabbed a 22year old Bride-to-be in Bokkos.

Mr. Ibrahim Abdulrahaman had disappeared since he allegedly assaulted Miss Naomi Mallan in Mangor village two weeks ago.

He was said to have stabbed her several times in her hands during a rape attempt at an isolated stream.

Miss Mallan who was saved by passersby had crabbed his generals in a bit to force a retreat when he pulled a knife and inflicted deep wounds on her.

His father, Mr. Abdulrahaman Muhammadu had pledged to assist in locating him.

Mr. Ibrahim who had fled home since committing the crime was turned in by soldiers of the Special military Task Force in the State on Sunday.

The soldiers based in the suspect's home village were believed to have been alerted by family members when he possibly came home.

The Bokkos Police Division commenced investigations as soon as they took custody of him from the soldiers who brought him to the station in chains, it was learnt.

Yesterday, Mr. Abdulrahaman led the team of detectives handling the case to the crime scene.

He also submitted the knife he used to commit the crime after confessing to the crime.

The Police Division intends to forward the case to the CCID as soon as possible for the completion of investigations and subsequent arraignment of the suspect.

He is however expected to be paraded at the Police headquarters, Jos on completion of investigations before his arraignment.

Mr. Abdulrahaman could face several years imprisonment if found guilty of trespass, assault, attempted rape and murder which are all grievous crimes punishable under the Nigerian Criminal Code Act.

Police Public Relations Officer, Mr. Tyopev Terna had confirmed the crime last week but could not give details into the latest development.

The Deputy Superintendent of Police said he was yet to receive a communication on the arrest when contacted.

It was however learnt that a signal on the case was transmitted to the Police Commissioner early yesterday by the Divisional Police Authorities.
