A 13 years-old boy, Mr. Daniel Pam of Tanjol, Jol village of Riyom Local Government Area, Plateau State was Monday killed by unknown gunmen, sources a local nongovernmental organization, Emancipation Centre for Crisis Victims in Nigeria says.

Mr. Pam was reportedly attacked by a group of herdsmen at a stream when he went to fetch water.

The attackers according to ECCVN robbed the victim of N20,000 before killing him.

A suspect has already been identified and apprehended by Securities, the Foundation said in a press statement.

Meanwhile, Police in Plateau State say the "sudden resurgence" of crimes like car snatching and theft might be connected to the quest for money for the forthcoming Easter celebrations. 

In a press statement, Monday, the Police Spokesman, Tyopev Terna advise vehicle owners to secure their vehicles using either pedal or steering locks in addition to the tracking devices.
