After recieving over 5000 votes in less than 24hrs, organisers of the Plateau Social Media Awards have announced a two weeks cut in the duration of the exercise.

 Online voting was originally fixed for 25th April to 30th May, 2019.

With the two weeks cut however, voting is now expected to end 18th May, 2019.


The Plateau Social Media Awards is established to recognize and encourage plateau citizens who create exceptional content daily, giving many a reason to smile whenever they visit their platform.

The Plateau Social Media Awards (PSMA) will recognize excellence in content creation, innovation and awarding talents in various fields, who have carved a niche leveraging the social media platform. 

PSMA is a platform to honor the brilliant brains and practitioners of blogs and social media in the state. 

As social media and blogs grow to be the new powerful tools of influence, this event is to connect everyone in highlighting the work of some of the best from the social media fraternity of global and local social media practitioners.

The Pre-Awards lecture will hold Friday, 5th July at the Azi Nyako youth center in collaboration with the Plateau Youth Council(PYC),NAPSS & NANS and all Youth interest groups and stakeholders.

The Inaugural Awards will hold 7th July 2019 @Mees Palace Rayfield Jos, Plateau State.

The Awards is focus on nominations and online voting  from all social media users in Plateau state via our circulated voting links on all social Media Platforms.

Online voting amount for 50% ( i.e the percentage vote of each candidate is the candidate's percentage vote online which will be added to the votes from the judges) of probable Winners with a panel of 5 reputable judges that  have a score of 10 marks each to make up the other 50%.

Winners will be declared on the Award Night.

Special Recognition Award has been designed for 5 well deserving individuals for hardwork,community service and dedication to duty.


To be a catalyst for changing the narrative on the social media space, using the platform as a tool for Promoting peaceful coexistence, tolerance and socio-economic development.


To contribute to the peace, unity, tourism, progress and development of Plateau state through social media useful engagement.


There will be a pre-award lecture that will center on the use of the social media as a tool for positive socio-economic growth.

It will be a lecture that will have three sessions with three keynote speakers on supporting topics.

The aim is to change the narrative of mutual suspicion, political rivalry hate speech, propaganda and conflict situations on the Plateau social media space, and engaging conversations for the enhancement of healthy growth within the plateau online community.
