Police in Northeastern Nigeria are still to trace the whereabouts of a renowned business, Alhaji Jingi Dirbishi kidnapped last Saturday.

Mr. Dirbishi was kidnapped in Wuropatuje village of Mubi South Local Government Area, Adamawa state, it was learnt.

Eyewitnesses say the business tycoon was kidnapped at gunpoint at about 7:25 pm local time near his residence while returning from the Mosque.

"The Kidnappers were ten in number. They used a Keke Napep for the kidnap. They fired several gun shots in the air to scare people from making any attempt to stop them especially that they were no masked," one of the eyewitnesses said.

Alhaji Jingi is said to be a wealthy businessman with businesses in Nigeria and Cameroun.

The kidnappers are said to be demanding N40 million before his release.

Officials have yet to comment on the incident.
