The compromised parts of the burnt down Jos Main Market will be demolished, May 18, 2019 to make way for reconstruction.

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong said Wednesday that his commitment to rebuild the burnt down Jos Main Market remains "sacrosanct".

In an official statement by his Information Commissioner, Mr. Yakubu Datti, the Governor requested citizens to stay 200 metres away from the market latest, Friday, May 17, 2019 by 6.00pm.

Vehicular movement according to the Governor's statement will be restricted, and all entry points to the market closed, for public safety.
