The Nigerian Building and Road Research Institute, NBRRI is set to commission its newly established Training Center and pilot Pozzolana plant in Bokkos Plateau State.

Pozzolana, also known as pozzolanic ash (pulvis puteolanus in Latin) is a civil engineering material used for construction.

According to the Wikipedia, it is a natural siliceous or siliceous and aluminous material which reacts with calcium hydroxide in the presence of water at room temperature (cf. pozzolanic reaction).

The NIBRRI Pozzolana plant and training centre, located in Bot village, 2kms east of Bokkos town will be launched, Friday by the Nigerian Minister of Science and Technology, Dr. Ogbonaya Onu, officials say.

The Plateau State Governor, Simon Lalong is expected at the event which holds 10am, local time.
