Central Nigeria's Ron/Kulere people group has been given the hosting rights for the 2019 World Museum Day celebration in Plateau State.

A letter from the National Commission for Museums and Monuments, Jos gives the group the right to mobilize and organize the event according to its cultural peculiarities.

The letter signed by the Curator of the Commission, Mrs. B.Y. Bitiyong on September 18, 2018 says the group has the right to use the day to showcase its cultural tourism potentials.

The 2019 World Museum Day holds May 18, 2019 with the theme, "Museum and cultural hubs: the future of tradition".

Each year the hosting rights of the event are given to different people groups.
