JOS, NIGERIA: The Plateau Conference of Councilors is soon to emerge to help further the ‘laudable’ achievements of Gov. Simon Lalong.


The national Councilors Forum has directed the setting up of a State chapter that will work for the collective good of Councilors and the grassroots people, Chairman of the State Conference of Legislative Leaders Forum, Hon. Barr. Daniel Emmanuel told Journalists, Monday.

Accordingly, July 13, 2019 has been fixed for election into various offices of the Councilors Forum, Emmanuel said.

This according to him will hold at Wase Local Government Secretariat.

Sale of forms for the polls began Monday July 1, 2019 and ends July 7, 2019, he said.

Screening starts July 10, 2019 at Jos East Local Government Legislative Chambers for Plateau Northern Senatorial District, the Legislative boss hinted.

It continues July 11, 2019 for Plateau Central, at Pankshin Local Government Legislative Chambers and ends July 12, 2019 at Langtang North Legislative Chambers for Plateau Southern zone, Emmanuel explained.

Guidelines for the polls according to him have been communicated to the 13 LGAs in the State with democratic structures for interested candidates to study.

The Forum when established will work in unity with both the State and Federal Governments to develop the grassroots, the CLLF Chairman said.
