Securities Mount roadblocks to restrict movement during lockdown

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Plateau State Council says its official car stickers are in the possession of nonprofessionals.

A press statement from the Union's Chairman, Paul Jatau and Secretary, Peter Amine says such nonprofessionals use the IDs to get free movement during lockdown.

"Anybody seen with the sticker should further identify him/herself with staff Identity Card or the NUJ ID Card," the statement says.

The Union had Thursday commended the Plateau State Government for rolling out protocols for the control of COVID-19.

The body, however, in a communiqué after its congress meeting, said it was worried that the number of vehicles  on roads during lockdown was "alarming".

Government, the communiqué advised should be strict in enforcing guidelines especially at borders.
